8:00am - 12:00pm at Lakeshore Foundation

What is Lakeshore's Amazing Race?

Lakeshore's Amazing Race is a popular and successful community event presented by Lakeshore Foundation Junior Board. This event is a unique blend of fundraising and outreach to encourage community involvement and disability awareness.
Modeled after the television show The Amazing Race, this event pits teams of four in a fun and challenging competition. Participants "race" to complete interactive challenges designed specifically to build awareness of the capabilities of people with physical disabilities and to promote programs and resources available to community members at Lakeshore. Examples of past challenges include: sprinting down a track wearing a blindfold, guided only by the feel of a thin tether held by a sighted guide runner, or kayaking down the pool with one arm and hand immobilized.
This event is also an important fundraiser for Lakeshore, providing financial support for community fitness, aquatics, recreation, and sports programs for children and adults who have physically disabling conditions.
After the race, each participant will receive a t-shirt, swag bag, vouchers for food/dessert trucks, drinks, and a chance to win some awesome door prizes.
